Ingredients:
- 1 c. sugar
- 2 c. peeled & diced apples
- 1 egg, well beaten
- 1 c. flour
- 1 tsp. soda
- 1 tsp. cinnamon
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/2 c. light brown sugar
- 2 tbsp. flour
- 1 c. water
- 1/2 c. butter
- 1 tsp. vanilla
Method:
- Mix sugar and apples.
- Add egg when sugar is dissolved.
- Sift flour, soda and cinnamon together.
- Add to apple mixture.
- Add vanilla and nuts.
- Pour into greased and floured 8 inch cake pan.
- Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
- Combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil until clear. Add butter and vanilla, stir until butter is melted. Pour over hot cake.Delicious but rich!
