Apple Nut Cake Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 c. sugar
  • 2 c. peeled & diced apples
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 c. chopped pecans or walnuts
HOT BUTTER SAUCE:
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/2 c. light brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp. flour
  • 1 c. water
  • 1/2 c. butter 
  • 1 tsp. vanilla


Method:
  • Mix sugar and apples. 
  • Add egg when sugar is dissolved. 
  • Sift flour, soda and cinnamon together. 
  • Add to apple mixture. 
  • Add vanilla and nuts. 
  • Pour into greased and floured 8 inch cake pan. 
  • Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
HOT BUTTER SAUCE:
  • Combine first 4 ingredients. Bring to a boil until clear. Add butter and vanilla, stir until butter is melted. Pour over hot cake.Delicious but rich!
